Frequently Asked Questions
Are augmentative and alternative communication systems lazy?
This is one of the most frequent concerns people have when it comes to discussing alternative forms of communication, especially that of a child in the early stages of language development.
But in our experience, alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) does not make you or your child “lazy”. In fact, research suggests that (when used correctly), these tools will not hinder speech development but rather introduce or support communication competence.
I’ve been approved for an alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) device through NDIS. Can you assist me in my application for the right technology?
