What is Telehealth
Speech Therapy?
Sometimes you or your child may be confined to the house due to your disability or other circumstances. But that doesn’t mean you have to miss out on speech therapy services.
The increase of medical professionals using remote technology has meant that we as qualified speech therapists can offer all our clients the option of tele speech therapy appointments.
What’s the Difference
Between
a Mobile Speech Therapy Session &
Telehealth Speech Therapy?
In truth, there is not much difference between speech therapy we conduct during our mobile sessions (where we come to a location of your preference) and those we undertake remotely.
You can essentially receive the same service (with a few workarounds, of course) than if we were to visit you in person. In fact, there may even be a few benefits you might not have considered.
Think about it, now if you or your child is sick, you don’t have to miss out on your speech therapy. Just book a telehealth speech therapy session. You can even take us away with you on holidays when you choose tele speech therapy.
Our Intake Requirements:
Please note we only accept a limited number of referrals at a time, and prioritise those linked with the NDIS. We are passionate about providing services to individuals with complex communication needs (little or no speech) that may be associated with the following diagnoses and/or genetic conditions:
- Autism
- Cerebral Palsy
- CHARGE Syndrome
- Down Syndrome
- Developmental Delays
- Intellectual Impairment
- Rhett Syndrome
To discuss whether your child meets our intake requirements, contact us directly.
Frequently Asked Questions
Want to know more about telehealth speech therapy? We’ve answered some of the most common questions asked by clients and their family members, in an effort to be as clear and transparent as possible.
But if your question isn’t answered below, you can always get in touch with us by phoning 0439 348 174 or online.
I (or my child) have been approved for speech therapy under the NDIS. Does this cover telehealth speech therapy?
It most certainly does. In fact, it’s something many of our NDIS clients have taken advantage of since COVID-19 introduced restrictions to in-person visits.
Simply get in touch with Jenelle, our speech pathologist, via the online form or by giving us a call, and we’ll discuss your individual requirements.
My child is immuno-compromised. Can I arrange for a tele speech therapy session?
Of course. Just contact us to arrange it.
Do you have a clinic I can attend?
No. We offer a mobile service, meaning we come directly to you. This can be in your home, day service, school* or child care centre.
*Access to school visits will depend on your circumstances and the individual school.
